Hands on buzzers as Spicks and Specks returns

Stop! Hey, what’s that sound? It can only be the opening notes of Spicks and Specks, heralding the premiere of a brand-new series, returning Wednesday 8 July at 8.35pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.

 

Adam Hills, Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough are back, pondering the big music questions while sweating the small stuff. Can music be made using hospital equipment? What would ‘Nessun Dorma’ sound like if it were about a butt-scooting dog? And exactly what did Ed Sheeran get up to in Japan with Justin Bieber?

 

Wrangled in to help is a crack team of Aussie icons: Amy Shark, Ruel, Rhonda Burchmore, Casey Donovan, Dami Im, Chris Cheney, Kate Miller-Heidke, Katie Noonan, Caleb Harper plus plenty more. Less helpful but more hilarious: Zoë Coombs Marr, Tommy Little, Denise Scott, Noah Szto and Frank Woodley.

 

Closing each show is a cavalcade of Australian musicians including Missy Higgins, Regurgitator, Keli Holiday, Wendy Matthews, Robert Forster, Ruby Fields, Play Lunch and Miss Kaninna. It’s shaping up to be another cracking season celebrating Australian music.
